Madam Lou Bunch Day – perhaps Central City’s most famous annual event – takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

It’s a day filled with colorful and sometimes wild activities and the most memorable is The Famous Bed Race right down the center of Main Street at 3:00PM SHARP. The crowd cheers as two people (often dressed in 19th-century costumes) ride an elaborate wheeled bed, while a third pushes them across the finish line.

The event is held in honor of the town’s most successful brothel owner from the Gold Rush era, Madam Lou Bunch. In fact, as far as anyone knows, it’s the only day anywhere in Colorado dedicated to a madam.

12th Annual Stills in the Hills!

Stills in the Hills is a true Colorado original, just like Central City.  Featuring a shizzle of Colorado craft distilleries and hundreds of varieties of spirits, if you are a fan (or just a topor), this is one fest not to be missed.  The last Saturday in June is celebrated as only a true sot would love: historic Main Street transformed into one big speakeasy. Come sip, savor (and repeat) in a style that President Grant would take a shine to (rim tap). We tried to host a Grant look-a-like contest but that flopped like a wine-bibber at a county fair. We could do a best dressed ‘shine maker; think Granny, and give away some kind of prize, stay tuned for that decision.

$50-80 for the opportunity to taste lots and lots of spirits!

Saturday, August 22, 2026 • 1pm - 6pm

Central City—we’re up to something and that includes brewing beer for a very, very long time. There’s even the remnants of a brewery that started puttin’ bungs on kegs in 1860. Go look for it and take a selfie next to the brew kettle. That’s why we celebrate all things beer up here

What could make tasting some of the best brews around better, you ask? Shotgunning a couple of amazing musical talents that's what. 

On tap...

Come sample some of Colorado's Best. Almost two dozen hand-picked Colorado breweries will be on-hand along with their brewmasters and beer-production teams. Make some new friends who are all about beer.

Central City hearts beer... 

Those of us that know Central City, get it. We love our rich mining history, opera, old grumpy coots ,our puppies and our gambling. But most of all, we love the wonderful breweries that the Centennial state has to offer. Come share in this love, one sip at a time.

GA tickets: $50 advance / $55 day of
VIP tickets: $80 advance / $85 day of

GA admission: 1pm entry, tasting cup, live music and more samples than you can imagine.

VIP admission: early entry (noon), tasting cup, private lounge with full-sized pours and afternoon appetizers. Plus, some special VIP-only entertainment.

All admissions include the opportunity to meet real brewers.
